Announced in February 2022\, it is the seventh main entry in the Street Fighter franchise\, and was released for PlayStation 4\, PlayStation 5\, Windows and Xbox Series X/S on June 2\, 2023\, while an arcade version will be published by Taito later in the year. Additionally\, a prequel comic book series was unveiled in September 2022. \nDeveloped on the RE Engine\, Street Fighter 6 supports cross-platform play and rollback net code. It offers three overarching game modes and three control options. The game also features a real-time commentary system\, providing a tournament-style feel and the option to cheer on the player. \nStreet Fighter 6 received critical acclaim and sold over one million copies worldwide. \n\nGameplay \n\nStreet Fighter 6 features three overarching game modes: Fighting Ground\, World Tour\, and Battle Hub. Fighting Ground contains local and online versus battles as well as training and arcade modes\, all featuring similar 2D fighting gameplay to the previous games in the series\, in which two fighters use a variety of attacks and special abilities to knock out their opponent. World Tour is a single-player story mode featuring a customizable player avatar exploring 3D environments\, such as Final Fight’s Metro City and the small nation of Nayshall\, with action-adventure gameplay. Battle Hub acts as an online lobby mode\, using customizable player avatars from the World Tour mode. In the Battle Hub\, players can compete in ranked or casual matches\, battle using their created avatars\, using the skills learned in World Tour mode\, participate in special events\, or play emulated Capcom arcade titles\, using the same emulation technology used in the Capcom Arcade Stadium series\, among other features. \nThe main fighting gameplay of Street Fighter 6 is based around the Drive Gauge\, a system designed to encourage player creativity. The gauge can be used for five different techniques\, requiring players to choose which to prioritize. Most of the Drive Gauge’s mechanics are based on previously existing mechanics from previous Street Fighter mainline games\, such as Parry\, Focus Attack\, EX move\, etc. The game features three control types: the “classic” control scheme\, which is a six-button layout that functions similarly to previous entries; the “modern” control scheme\, which is a simplified four-button layout that assigns special moves to a single button combined with a directional input; and the “dynamic” control scheme\, which can be used in certain parts in the Fighting Ground mode\, but is not allowed in online battles\, uses a single-button auto-attack layout\, based on what range the attack would be performed. \nThe use of multiple super combos returns from the Street Fighter Alpha sub-series\, also counting the Ultra Combo W variant from Ultra Street Fighter IV. However\, each character only has three super combos based on their respective level gauge. For example\, Ryu’s Shinku Hadoken\, Shin Hashogeki and Shin Shoryuken can only be used at Level 1\, 2 and 3 respectively. When a player is low on health\, their Level 3 super move will become a Critical Art\, which is more powerful in addition to having an expanded cinematic scene. Certain movesets can only be cancelled to super moves based on how many levels the player has filled\, such as EX/Overdrive special moves\, which can only be cancelled to higher levels above Level 1\, while regular special moves without sacrificing the Drive gauge can only be cancelled to Level 3. An “extreme” battle type is also available for play\, allowing players to compete in matches that feature special rules and gimmicks. \nA real-time commentary system is a brand new feature in Street Fighter 6\, where English and/or Japanese commentators watch the action in real-time\, giving it a more tournament-style feel\, or allow the option to cheer the player on. Eight different commentators are featured\, four of each of the two commentary types: play-by-play commentary and color commentary\, the latter being optional. DESCRIPTION:FRIDAY 17th JANUARY   \n \n\n\n ‘Just for Fun‘ Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament \n\n\n\n\n \n\nThis Friday is our first tournament night of 2025. Smash Bros on Switch with all the DLC \n \n\n\nUsual format\, knockout style competition\, starts about 7:30pm and probably last up to 90 minutes\, with casual play before and after. Its mostly just for fun but vouchers for the shop (Timewarp Shop Bridgwater) are up for grabs for 1st and 2nd place.\n\n \nAll ages welcome\, entry to the arcade is £9.50. Entry to the tournament (or two if we have time) is included in the arcade entry fee.\n \nGame Information\n\n\n\n\nSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate is a 2018 crossover fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth instalment in the Super Smash Bros. series\, succeeding Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U (2014). The game follows the series’ traditional style of gameplay: controlling one of the various characters\, players must use differing attacks to weaken their opponents and knock them out of an arena. It features a wide variety of game modes\, including a campaign for single-player and multiplayer versus modes. Ultimate features 89 playable fighters\, including all characters from previous Super Smash Bros. games alongside newcomers. The roster ranges from Nintendo mascots to characters from third-party franchises. \nGameplay \nSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate is a platform fighter for up to eight players in which characters from Nintendo games and other third-party franchises must try to knock each other out of an arena. Each player has a percentage meter\, which raises when they take damage\, thus increasing the knockback they take and making them easier to launch in the air and out of the arena. Standard battles use one of three victory conditions: Timed\, where players aim to win the most points by defeating opponents within a time limit; Stock\, where players have a set number of lives and must aim to be the last player standing; and Stamina\, where players must simply reduce their opponent’s health down to zero to defeat them. Players can adjust the rules to their liking and save them as presents for future matches. \nPlayers can also enable various items to attack enemies or grant them power-ups\, along with Poké Balls and Assist Trophies\, which respectively summon Pokémon and other non-playable characters to assist them in battle. In Timed matches\, certain Assist Trophies can be attacked and defeated to earn points. Each character also possesses a powerful Final Smash attack\, which can be performed either by obtaining a Smash Ball or by filling up a special meter\, both of which can be toggled on and off. The game features 104 different stages included in the base game\, with additional ones coming packaged with DLC fighters. They can all be played in alternative Battlefield and Omega forms or can be toggled to remove stage hazards. A new feature called Stage Morph allows players to select two stages that the game alternates between at certain intervals during a match. The only little hint to give you is that if you prefer to play using a USB fight stick then you may want to bring it for at least one game.  We don’t want players to go in unprepared.  \nBut what we can tell you is the plan for the night. We will be playing 3 different Capcom fighting games over the course of the night. Instead of our usual knockout tournament we will instead be playing for points over each game. If you lose your match you won’t truly be out. Everyone will play each game twice guaranteeing everyone gets plenty of play time. Points will be awarded for each round won so no matter your skill\, win or lose\, you can still be earning points and this should ensure scoring is kept tight as the night goes on with the highest total score taking home some sweet prizes! With how many matches we potentially have to fit in games 1 and 2 will be played at the same time by separately drawn group fixtures with all players being called back together to have all eyes on our final wild card game.  However we will be limiting this fight night to a maximum of 16 entries because there’s potentially so many matches to play. When a player is low on health\, their Level 3 super move will become a Critical Art\, which is more powerful in addition to having an expanded cinematic scene. Certain movesets can only be cancelled to super moves based on how many levels the player has filled\, such as EX/Overdrive special moves\, which can only be cancelled to higher levels above Level 1\, while regular special moves without sacrificing the Drive gauge can only be cancelled to Level 3. An “extreme” battle type is also available for play\, allowing players to compete in matches that feature special rules and gimmicks. \nA real-time commentary system is a brand new feature in Street Fighter 6\, where English and/or Japanese commentators watch the action in real-time\, giving it a more tournament-style feel\, or allow the option to cheer the player on. Ultimate is a 2018 crossover fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth installment in the Super Smash Bros. series\, succeeding Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U (2014). The game follows the series’ traditional style of gameplay: controlling one of the various characters\, players must use differing attacks to weaken their opponents and knock them out of an arena. It features a wide variety of game modes\, including a campaign for single-player and multiplayer versus modes. Ultimate features 89 playable fighters\, including all characters from previous Super Smash Bros. games alongside newcomers. The roster ranges from Nintendo mascots to characters from third-party franchises. \nGameplay \nSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate is a platform fighter for up to eight players in which characters from Nintendo games and other third-party franchises must try to knock each other out of an arena. Each player has a percentage meter\, which raises when they take damage\, thus increasing the knockback they take and making them easier to launch in the air and out of the arena. Standard battles use one of three victory conditions: Timed\, where players aim to win the most points by defeating opponents within a time limit; Stock\, where players have a set number of lives and must aim to be the last player standing; and Stamina\, where players must simply reduce their opponent’s health down to zero to defeat them. Each character also possesses a powerful Final Smash attack\, which can be performed either by obtaining a Smash Ball or by filling up a special meter\, both of which can be toggled on and off.[5][6][7] The game features 104 different stages included in the base game\, with additional ones coming packaged with DLC fighters. They can all be played in alternative Battlefield and Omega forms or can be toggled to remove stage hazards. A new feature called Stage Morph allows players to select two stages that the game alternates between at certain intervals during a match. It was originally released in 2005 as a coin-operated arcade game for the Atomiswave hardware. A PlayStation 2 port\, retitled Hokuto no Ken: Shinpan no Sōsōsei Kengō Retsuden (北斗の拳 ～審判の双蒼星 拳豪列伝～\, roughly translated as Fist of the North Star: The Twin Blue Stars of Judgment – History of the Fist Masters)\, was released exclusively in Japan in March 2007. This version features a bonus DVD including an exclusive training mode (“Starter’s Guide”) and a documentary covering history of previous Hokuto no Ken titles for home consoles. The arcade version was officially distributed by Sega in North America\, while the PS2 port was released only in Japan. In 2020\, a homebrew conversion was released for the Dreamcast. \nGameplay\nWhile in both terms of gameplay and visual style\, the game is similar to the Guilty Gear series (which was also made by Arc System Works)\, some aspects of the mechanics are slightly different. \nSeven Stars of the Hokuto\nBelow each character’s lifebar is a gauge with seven “stars” in the shape of the Big Dipper. Special moves\, supers\, and some command normals can remove varying numbers of stars. Once empty\, a final “Death Star” or “shichousei” will light up and the other player can perform a special “Fatal KO” attack that can instantly defeat them\, regardless of their lifebar (similar to the Instant Kill attacks in Guilty Gear). The biggest difference is these moves may be easily comboed into\, making them far more practical than their Guilty Gear counterparts. Players regain two stars at the start of each round\, and one star any time an opponent unsuccessfully attempts to Fatal KO. After being Fatal KO’d\, if the match is not over\, that player starts the following round with all seven stars replenished. \nBoost\nBoost is one of the many meters in the game\, displayed above the Aura meter in the game’s HUD. The bar is divided into three sections or stocks. Using a boost (with the Boost/Special button) allows a player to cancel a move after it hits (similar to Roman Cancels in Guilty Gear)\, and also shoots the character forward. The player can also Boost when not doing a move\, in order to jet across the screen quickly. Boosts are frequently used to perform combos that otherwise would not be possible. \nAura\nUsed to perform super moves and Guard Cancels (similar to alpha counters.) The gauge can hold two stocks. The first stock fills the gauge up with blue; the second stock fills the gauge up with gold. When at least one stock is ready\, text reading “GOD FIST BLOW” appears next to the gauge.
